How Telecommunication Enhances Rumor Among Students ( Learn from my life story)

Telecommunications have significantly enhanced the spread of rumors in today's world, especially among young people, making it easier and faster for false information to reach a large audience.By acknowledging the role of telecommunications in spreading rumors and taking steps to verify information, we can work towards a more informed and responsible communication landscape.
   I was a young, innocent, and fresh student, in Olabisi Onabanjo University. I was also the zealous and over-confident type of student . So , because it is expected of every fresh students to be naive . Some senior students of the school decided to leverage on our innocence, as fresh students. This is a lesson for fresh students , to be smart and also understand how fake rumors spread among students in all universities.
" Make sure to clarify informations before reacting to them". 
On this faithful day . It was on a Monday . I checked my WhatsApp and saw an information from one of my colleagues, also a fresh student . He posted on his status that we are to converge at a lecture room in the school. I was disturbed by that information and, I began to ask everyone that I knew , if they had heard something similar. People from my level ( I mean, fresh students like me ) confirmed that they heard , while some others denied it . I was left with the choice to make . The choice to go to school or not can be a little bit difficult in my school , because of the transportation fare . So I had to sit down and think well. While I was thinking, my department released the time table for the session and I ran through it . So , I discovered that I was going to have a class eventually by 1pm, that day . I immediately rushed down to the bathroom,and took my bath.
   I was on my way to class and I just decided to check my WhatsApp once again . I began to see different informations and misinformations . I got to class before reading them . When I got to class , I couldn't go through them until after the class . So , immediately after the class , I sat down to read the updates. Then I realized that the students were duped of a certain amount of money . The information stated it that the fresh students had gathered, and a man who claimed to be a book seller began selling books to them . The man made them understood how important those books was going to be to them. So ,they all bought it . It was later that day that they all found out that the book seller was a student also . He was only trying to make money. I laughed so hard when I heard. 
  Although I was not part of the victims , but I learnt that one must always clarify informations before acting on them . 
  The school later released a memo that students should go to their respective department to begin lectures fully .
