MODESTY: An Act of Simplicity

What firstly comes to your mind when the word "Modesty" is uttered?. Of course, dressing comes to mind . Now not just any kind of dressing, but one that is simple , beautiful, and decent . 

      In my own community, When you wear a dress that covers your whole body, you are considered a modest person and , that's really fair , no doubts . But what if modesty is more than dressing?and, what if modesty is not restricted to women only ?. I know you want to question me right now but let me dig down to the soul of my discuss for more clarifications on this subject.

Over the years, there have been different conceptions and misconceptions of the word "modesty" and , how it works. I have seen a decently dressed person who lacks manners and vice versa. Decency is not measured on the outside appearance alone , It is an act of simplicity , that is being practiced overtime and developed as a character. This character is what i call " Modesty" . Now a modest person is someone that is simple , not bragging, not pretentious, decent and yet giving. Such a person does not necessarily have to be rich , fluent in speaking or into expensive clothing . Simplicity is the basic grounds for moderacy. 

Decency is not for women alone . It is a simple way of living . So, men who seek to marry a modest woman should also strife to be modest , because it is the kind of person you are that you will attract . It is best that men should take note of this. 

     I actually reasoned with the thought that "modesty is equivalent to decent dressing", especially among women . This is because indecent dressing is very common among women and , that saying is used to advocate for a good kind of dressing that is morally acceptable as a standard of a society . However, we must understand that modesty encompasses all aspects of our lives. How simple and moderate we are in our daily engagements shows the level of modesty in us.

       Modesty brings you peace that will affect your environment. It earns you respect, regards and value . It takes away all forms of complexity and duplicity from your life . Is life not about having peace?. The reason behind your everyday struggle and cares is to get all your wants and desires to yourself and have peace . What about you getting that peace before you get all your desires and cares?

Modesty cannot be earned , it can only be built and, I must confess to you that it takes time to do that . The process of re-learning may not be easy , especially when the learner is a grown up person . It takes only deliberate and intentional minds to achieve this act .

    As a people, we should embrace this act of Modesty,so that we might enjoy peace within us and with all men . 

   Royalties dress decently, dress like one . Discourage all forms of indecency and complexity. Dress like a winner 🏆
