A New Approach to Valentine

Two days ago was Valentine and, of course many people all over the world celebrated this particular day. February 14, a day of love and re-union .      Merriments in the air, cakes , flowers , red shoes,

night parties, so much color , atmosphere of love and more . Indeed a day to be remembered for ages.

   In my own community. The town is usually painted red on this day because People walk in twos'and it is usually a hard time for singles . So much pressure, I know you understand what I mean . No single person would not have wished to celebrate with a loved one the next time Valentine visits . For some families, they make sure every member of the family is gathered together on this day . For some couples, they create time on that day to be together talking about love and how they met . For some grown up men , they propose to their loved ones and get set to be married. While some others stay at home enjoying their own company. 

   And this ambience of love has always been on replay over time and history.

Now ,there should be a new approach to this day, as the world itself is evolving. On this day of re-union. Let us spread out love to people . Especially those whose life depends on it . We all know how Nigeria has been hard on everyone at large, but to some it has been more horrible and, living is not just easy for them . The orphans , the prisoners, the homeless, the less privileged, the disabled are longing to be loved and encouraged . Don't they deserve our love? . Are we more righteous than they?. Many of them did not choose the situation they found themselves. It just happened!, and we that are lucky to be complete . It's time we prove our completeness by sharing love and putting smile on sad faces.

   Attentive ears , I never said we should not have a get-together party with our family members or loved ones . It is important to do that, but while doing that, we should also extend love to these incapable people and make them feel important and existing . We all should make it a collective responsibility to express love to these set of people . 

    Every year , it has always been a culture to celebrate valentine with our loved ones . Now is the time to show love to other people around us in the society. Spread love .

Helping the needy very close to us can help curb the impending dangers of loosing them to death . As Nigerians we are one , and when one of us is in need of help , we should be able to render help massively.

     This is not the work of the government alone. We as the citizens can also contribute to this . It's not bad if February 14 is wholely dedicated to spreading love to these people. Of course , we should celebrate with our family, friends and loved ones but while making merry , let's also spread love.
