Advice to Nigerian students and graduates on the continued growth in technology

Many young Nigerians in recent times solemnly depend on education to becoming successful in the future. However, not disputing the fact that education is able to do that , there is a need to understand the market out there. Education is only meant to shape your mentality by learning relearning and unlearning. Now , being educated is a bit deeper, it is the ability of you acquiring knowledge, moral and necessary skills in your field . People who have reached the peak of success through education have only learnt to channel their acquired knowledge to solving problems in the world. Problem solving in respect to the above laid grounds might become a hard nut to crack with no digital skill at hand. 

   Digital skill is the cutting-edge skill associated with education. It is what makes one highly qualified for any Job in the market. 

         The  Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board , Prof. Ishaq Oloyede has urged graduates and students to equip themselves with the relevant skills to stay atop in the digital age of today. Oloyede stated this during his lecture, titled " learning, unlearning and Re- learning - Prerequisites of Digital Age" , which was delivered at the Kwara State University recent  Convocation lecture  in Malete , Kwara State. 

  

   In his words , he stated that " Learning is useless without practice and relearning is the ability to acquire new skills , knowledge and perspectives quickly and effectively".

      The onus of the responsibility lies on everyone reading this , to get prepared and to prepare their younger ones for the challenge of the Information Age by taking life-long learning seriously and being willing to change as circumstances unfold. 

     Therefore, in the fast-evolving era of the technology, acquiring relevant skills is imperative for individuals seeking to navigate and excel in the professional realm.
